The purpose of this course is to prepare for the anxiety of taking the test and getting a decent score on the real test.

Requirements:

1) Attendance and Participation

2) 4 Progress Mock Mathematics Exams (these exams will be taken on Saturday afternoons)

3) Taking every day mini quizzes

4) Memorizing equations, vocabularies

5) Scientific Calculator (Logarithms, value of sin, cos, and tan, )

Introduction to the SAT Mathematics Subject Test:

The SAT Subject Tests are a series of one-hour exams developed and administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and the College Board. Unlike the SAT, the SAT Subject Tests are designed to measure specific knowledge in specific areas. There are many different tests in many different subject areas, such as biology, history, French, and physics. They are scored separately on a scale from 200 to 800.

This test measures your ability in all sorts of topics in mathematics.

Topics included:

Algebra, plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, statistics, number theory

Student's Responsibilities and Obligations in this Course

1.     Students should be on time for class.

2.     Students shouldn't leave the class before it ends, unless arranged in advance.

3.     All assignments indicated in the syllabus should be completed before the designated class. Class sessions form the basis for the course and there is no substitute for them. So you may not skip any classes.

During classes:

4.     Asking questions is a crucial step in the process of understanding mathematics. If you didn't understand even just a silly concept, ask it right away. Asking questions is encouraged!

5.     Students are responsible to do all the assignments on time. It's the student's responsibility to seek help as soon as they Ņget stuckÓ on their work.

6.     Students having difficulties regarding previous topics or any questions about the class, should come and talk to me after class, or come during my office hours.

When you're at the university, speaking with your professors during the office hours is a crucial part of your learning and they will know that you're taking the class seriously.

7.     Unless your partner is pregnant and is about to go into labor, please don't carry cellular telephones, pagers, and comparable electronic devices with you to class. They are distracting both to the instructor and to your fellow students. In fact, nothing annoys the instructor more than a cell phone ringing in the class. If you happen to have such devices with you in class, please ensure they are switched off before class begins.
